Elena Wanek, a member of Classics Eagles U11 Hot Sauce, is this week's Classics Eagles Spotlight player. Elena is active in several sports and also very good on the piano. She really enjoys playing soccer with her teammates, and puts her heart into training and competing each time she steps on the field. With an incredible work rate, she is always ready to do whatever she can to help her team have success.

We asked Elena to tell us more about herself and her team. This is what she had to say.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR TEAM:

We have an amazing coach and team. Our coach always pushes us to work to our real potential. Our team always has fun playing or practicing soccer together. I am lucky to be part of such an amazing team.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT SOCCER:

I love that the game is fast paced. I also love pushing myself to be a better player.​​​​​​​

WHAT OTHER ACTIVITIES ARE YOU INVOLVED WITH:

I love playing softball and basketball as well as soccer. I also love playing the piano when I am not doing sports.​​​​​​​

WHAT IS SOMETHING YOU ACCOMPLISHED OVER THE LAST YEAR:

My favorite accomplishment is when my team and I worked hard together and won the Fall Ball Classic. It was my first tournament with this team and I won't forget it. I was proud to be selected to play on the All Star softball team last summer.​​​​​​​

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO ACCOMPLISH THIS YEAR:

Win more tournaments with Hot Sauce 2.0 and improve the accuracy of my shots.​​​​​​​

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING TO DO WITH YOUR FAMILY:

Mountain Biking, Kayaking, and hiking with my dog at the Alum Creek state Park.​​​​​​​

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING TO DO WITH YOUR FRIENDS:

Going for bike rides, playing our Nintendo Switch, and going in our back woods.​​​​​​​

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOU:

I am very competitive but also kind.​​​​​​​

IF YOU COULD HAVE LUNCH WITH ANYONE IN THE WORLD, WHO WOULD IT BE AND WHY:

Jane Goodall. I would choose her because she is a famous Conservationist and Primatologist. Nature and animals are both things that I love.​​​​​​​
