Classics Eagles - Official Sports Medicine Partner



Orthopedic ONE
is the exclusive sports medicine provider to Classics Eagles FC.  The partnership provides services and benefits to enhance the experience for all members of the CE family, including players, families, coaches and directors.  The practice has both certified athletic trainers on site for set hours on a weekly basis and a 24 hour hotline to respond to any acute injury that may take place, and to provide general first aid and sports medicine assistance. Certified athletic trainers can prevent, assess and treat athletes, as well as direct access to a musculoskeletal physician, when needed.

Under the partnership agreement, services provided by Orthopedic ONE will include but are not limited to the following: 

•       Pre-participation authorizations and screening forms

•       On-site Athletic Trainer support for tryouts, camps and competitions

•       On-site weekly Athletic training room hours and locations for assessment, treatment & referrals

•       Injury Hotline, messaging service accessible 24 hours per day with priority same or next day scheduling with Orthopedic ONE specialists

•       Concussion assessment and management services

•       Comprehensive prevention and education collaboration, including coach education and wellness topics

•       Orthopedic ONE sponsors and is prominently displayed on the new Classics Eagles training shirts

Orthopedic ONE and Classics Eagles are pleased to announce that Chris Kent, PT/AT and Josh Horn, AT, are working with Classics Eagles.  

PLEASE NOTE CURRENT TRAINING ROOM HOURS:

 

  • Every Tuesday from 5:00PM-8:30PM at Liberty Park South (or darkness/end of training until daylight extends until 8:30PM) until 5/23/17
  • Every Monday and Wednesday from 4:30PM-8:30PM at SuperKick until 5/24/17 
  • Please try to arrive by 8:00PM if you wish to be seen. Any changes to this schedule will be posted on this web page.

Why do you work at Orthopedic ONE?  I chose to work at Orthopedic One for the opportunity to work collaboratively with our physicians and therapy staff in delivering care to  patients.  I chose an environment that supports professional growth.  There are tremendous opportunities here that translate to high quality care to patients and service to the community.

Other:  My previous athletic training soccer experiences  include Ohio State University Men’s Soccer, Northwestern University Men’s Soccer,  High Country Soccer Association (Boone, NC), and various high school teams in OH, NC, and I. Previous athletic training affiliations include:  Charlotte Rugby Club, Hendrick Motorsports Pit Crew, Stewart Haas Racing Pit Crew, various high schools in OH, NC, and IL, Ohio State Softball.  I am originally from Conneaut, OH.  Spent the last 9 years in North Carolina.

Education/Training: Bachelors of Science (BS) AT - Ohio University

Specialized focus: Evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of acute and chronic sports related injuries. Functional progressions of athletes return to play programs, Evaluation and management of concussions and concussion related symptoms.

Hobbies/Special interests: Soccer, Hockey, golf, running, being active

Why do you work at OrthopedicONE: To help everyday people return to performing everyday activities without any limitations or preventions and leading fully functional lives. As well as having an opportunity to educate athletes of all ages and skill levels about the importance of taking care of their bodies if they want to maintain playing soccer at a high level of competition.

Past Athletic Training experience: Fairborn HS softball and girls basketball (Dayton), Dayton Demonz Professional Hockey organization, Ohio University football, wrestling, Men’s basketball, D1 club hockey, Springboro HS boys and girls lacrosse, various other high school teams, sports, and tournaments

Playing experience: 3 years Varsity Lakota East High School (Cincinnati), Cincinnati United Premier 2007-2009, various other Cincinnati select soccer organizations

The Orthopedic ONE/Classics Eagles Sports Injury Hotline is available to all families at 614.827.8210 if you cannot see the Athletic Trainer during established hours. In the event a concussion diagnosis, all Classics Eagles players must successfully complete the SCAT3 concussion protocol for RTP (Return To Play). Online Pre-Participation Survey & Consent To Treat 

One of the valuable services provided by Orthopedic ONE to Classics Eagles, is a pre-participation survey with consent to treat. All families are asked to complete this survey, which will assist Orthopedic ONE with screening athletes for injury risk and also to provide the best possible treatment in the event of injury.
