This page introduces the CE Premier Academy Structure, specifically, Youth Development Academy based in the Olentangy community.  The cornerstone of each CE Premier team experience is the Academy’s age group specific curriculum which features a comprehensive list of Target Competencies© which create a developmental pathway for players from U6 to U19.  Target Competencies© are defined as the technical skills and game principles players are required to possess in order to be successful both now and in the future. We are in this together!  Classics Eagles promises to engage players and parents in the developmental process through team/pool, academy level, and club wide communication efforts as well as one of kind CE Education Program for Players, Parents and Coaches.  We look forward to serving your family through the game of soccer during the next year!

The YDA has a simple foundation: Fun = Competing and Development = Improvement.

The Classics Eagles Youth Development Academy (YDA) includes both boys and girls in the age groups of U9 & U10 playing in the 7v7 game format. The primary goal is to build upon the technical skill foundation introduced during the JDA experience.  Directors and staff believe the academy’s clear philosophy and progressive, year-long curriculum prepare players to be successful throughout all future Academy level experiences.

Training and playing in the YDA will help players to become well rounded, intelligent soccer players with increased passion for the game. The YDA Target Competencies© are similar to a school’s “I Can” Statements.  In these early stages of development it is a player FIRST approach.  Results at this age are not the defining factor in determining how good your child is; instead we focus on what they can do with and without the ball as a measure of development. Our players are expected to always compete, in training and games, to their fullest but it is the process and the manner in which we play that determines if we are winning and losing.

Players should possess specific skills and feel comfortable executing those skills in training and games before advancing to the next academy level (Premier Development Academy (PDA) U11-U12).  Our coaches are teachers first!  They create a positive, fun and challenging environment that balances skill development with a need to nurture a child’s enjoyment of the game.
