Classics Eagles Welcomes Frank Speth As Director of Coaching

We are excited to announce and welcome Frank Speth to the CE family as a full-time Director of Coaching responsible for leading the U14-U19 Boys & Girls age groups. Frank will also coach two teams, will lead and manage the Classics Eagles Camp Series, and will be involved in other key projects related to the mission of the organization.  Frank officially joins the Classics Eagles leadership team on June 1, 2017.

His accomplishments, contributions and wealth of experience at both the youth and college levels make Frank an ideal fit for Classics Eagles. We are thrilled that he is joining our leadership team, and look forward to the impact that he will make with our coaches and players", said Mike Lentz, CE Executive Director
 
When asked about what attracted him to the Classics Eagles organization, Speth shared; "I am excited about the opportunity to join one of the top programs in Central Ohio and to be an integral part of the continued success of this respected club.  I look forward to giving back to our youth and teaching the beautiful game, while working side by side with the staff."
 
Originally from Chicago, IL, Frank arrived in Columbus in 1999 and served for 17 years as Associate Head Men's Soccer Coach at The Ohio State University. Frank was integral in helping lead the Buckeyes to their most successful run in program history, including multiple Big Ten championships, NCAA Tournament appearances, reaching the NCAA Division I College Cup National Championship game in 2007.  While on staff at OSU, Frank served as both a Head and Assistant Coach for Columbus Crew SC's Development Academy from 2009-2014.  More recently, Frank served as Assistant Coach at Capital University and Staff Coach at Ohio Premier during the 2016-17 seasonal years. 

Prior to his arrival in Columbus, Coach Speth served as the Director of Coaching at the Illinois Youth Soccer Association from 1996-1999, and as Assistant Men's Soccer Coach at Fresno State University from 1993-1996.  He held various other coaching positions leading up to his hiring at Fresno State, and also graduated from Fresno State University in 1993. Frank played professional indoor soccer in the MISL & AISA from 1983-1987 with Memphis, Kalamazoo, Milwaukee & Chicago.  Coach Speth has earned a National USSF "A", "B" & "Youth" License. Frank and his wife, Cindy, reside in Worthington, Ohio.  Please welcome Coach Speth, you will see him on the field very soon!
